Mission Statement
The mission of the “church” is understood as an extension of the mission of God (Missio Dei). God’s mission is revealed in the Scriptures, making known His redemptive work through Jesus the Christ, in accordance with His purposes for His creation. Within this biblical context comes the call for any local church of Jesus Christ to engage as co-labourers with God in His mission.
God’s mission is to restore humanity to the Kingdom of God. God’s redemption has been accomplished through the life, ministry, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of His Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God. In giving the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ now rules over His people to lead them into the fulfillment of God’s purposes. As a result of these mighty acts of God, the church is called upon to proclaim the message of the good news of the Kingdom of God and His Christ and to embody the life of Christ in this world in and through the power of the Holy Spirit, which is the Gospel.
